Take a Break

Or did you forget why you started an online business in the first place?

When I started my first company I didn’t have a day off apart from Christmas day for three years. Partly because I was desperately trying to make money to keep going but partly because I felt guilty at the very idea of having time off.

Most self employed people I know work far too hard. They work long hours for six or seven days per week. Then, after some time they get ill or just burn out. It’s happened to me. I got really ill and couldn’t work more than an hour per day. I guess it was luckly I had an online business by then because if I’d been in a trade I could have gone bust.

It is vital that you take time out and have a good break from your business. Your clients can’t expect you to be there all the time so set their expectations. Make plans so you can take a good break and inform your customers. Get some coverage while you are away to deal with any important stuff such as incoming leads.

Have fun.
